AOR Orbit Eye springs
« on: Nov 19, 2004, 10:16:50 PM »
I was just curious if anyone here has actually run (or has wheeled with someone who is running) AOR's Orbit Eye springs.  If you're not familiar, check them out at www.aor4x4.com.  they supposedly add mad ass amounts of articulation with a minimal street body roll trade-off. I have been thinking of getting them, but they seem almost too good to be true.  If anyone has any info, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have them. My only regret is that while I got the eyes at both ends of the rear, I chose (on AOR's recommendation) to put one eye on the fronts. They said it would handle better on the street, since at the time it was also my daily driver. In the mean time I got another Runner for a DD…so now I’m going to get another top leaf for the front with eyes at both ends.
I didn’t used them enough to really break them in before I started tearing into the truck, but I think they’re worth the money. I did have a little trouble getting them to me and as I ordered.

I got them on my daily driver, with orbit eyes on both ends. They work great BUT, if you get them don't forget to get greasable bolts also. Otherwise after a while they will make  :hammer:  Shitloads  :hammer:  of noise.
Just be aware that if you order them, it can take MONTHS to get them.   :nonono:  (it took  :smack:  9 months for them to send them to me)
Good luck

Well, I guess I should feel lucky...it only took me 4 months to get mine! I didn't realize I was on the express list. I ordered mine 1 inch longer, with the pin 2 inches forward (moving my front axle 3inches forward)...but, they sent me spring at the stock length. That wouldn't have been a big deal, but, I welded the front hangers on 1 inch forward already. Sooo, they sent me a new top spring the right length.

Alcan made the springs for AOR, back when they were in buisness. You can call Alcan these days and purchase these same springs.

You didn't order customer ones. you need to tell them you want ones like All-Pro's or Marlins or 1.5" longer with the axle moved forward the same amount.
