Topic: Auto Tanny versus Manual Tranny

Can anybody tell me if a manual transmission and a automatic transmission out 2005-2010 are basicly the same shape. I am putting a 4.0 V6 from a 2006 tacoma in my 84 and I have a automatic tanny that I want to use for mock up until I can get my hands on a manual tranny
help please???

i asked a few newer 4runner owners and they said that the 4.0 from 2003-present never had an option for a manual tranny and if you want a stick shift they recommend getting a tranny from an 02 tacoma.
