Steering stops
« on: Jan 04, 2010, 05:50:25 PM »
I have a quick question.. How far in are you guys running the steering stops.  I have alloy USA inners and UM-06 birfs.  My tires don't hit the leaves but at full lock it still has no turn radius. Pictures or measurements would be cool. Thanks in advance.

I know that, but how far is safe for the birfs. Till the felts are smashed??? Some info would be good or atleast first hand experience.

I've heard that Bobby Long would make birfs capable of 45* if a Toyota axle could go that far  :dunno: . My turning radius with 33's and 1.5" spacers is about 3 lanes for a U-turn. WAY less if I'm locked. My tires are about an inch from my springs on full turn. Good/bad... I don't know. But it works fine for me on the street as a DD.

Does anyone know... I just don't want to blow a um-06 because I over steered them.

I run my axle until the felt touches the back side of the bell. I have no idea what angle that is.
