Coolant lines for air valve
« on: Apr 07, 2009, 07:30:30 PM »
I just recently picked up a decent shape federal 85 SR5 4runner......yippee!!  I am currently going through everything and am trying to find a place that sells the small coolant lines for the air valve?? It looks as though i can not use regular line as the air valve coolant lines are very curvy.

Are you talking about the coolant lines for the throttle body?

The top water line goes around the thermostat housing and is a special shape.
I have found these at my local parts house but they were very pricey.
The last time I needed these hoses, I got them at the local dealership.

I made the curves with small plumbing copper elbows (soldered for greater than 90 degree bends) plus heater hoses...........

I am always impressed with the get-r-done ideas of our forum members.

Can you post a pic?

Whoops..........

My memory was foggy.

Wasn't the small tiny lines for the air valve.

There's a heater hose under the intake manifold that  I made with the elbows...........

I just left the existing air valve hoses.   I figured that they were small enough and thick-walled enough that there wasn't much strain on them............

Thanks for the input everyone. I really like the idea of using tubing. One of my coolant lines has a pin hole and has to be replaced.
