more money to burn!
« on: Mar 29, 2009, 09:21:38 PM »
wow, if its not one thing its another!!
rear end went together relly well, body work is half done probably paint next week.
i lifted the front up today and sure enough the passenger has a little play. not to much, maybe about the thickness if a dime.
it does not seem as that small amount of play will produce a camber outa wack like that. hmmp?

also fired up the motor, i think i heard the timming chain rattle.   it does it at initial start.  i put some lucas gear oil in maybe a third of a quart.
seems as it stopped it a little.

on the bright side i think this truck only has 126 thousand original miles!!!  it has original owners manual and it looks like the timing chain has never been done!!   yay!!  i get to.

on that note. i think i can run it for at least a year with some thicker weight oil . what do you guys think is easier.   swap a newly rebuilt motor or do a timming chain in the truck?

like i said in another post a bud is giving me a beat up 92 with a relativly newer motor.
thanks for the help

Do the timing chain replacement in the truck. Your wallet will thank you later.

i agree just do the timing chain. i will save you from a possibly more catastrophic problem.
