front drive shaft

will an 80 front drive shaft fit on an 84 pickup

No, to begin with it is 4 1/2" too short and the bolt holes would not line up.

You could reuse the larger '84 and newer slip yoke assemble and slip it on the '80 shaft and drill out the 4 c/v joint bolt holes with a 13/32 drill but the shaft is still too short.
