Does it have a smooth idle? Have you checked if all the plug wires are conducting?

although its rare, its possible that your timing belt has jumped a tooth.
it will still run and idle fine, it just wont have any power whatsoever..

Id check for intake and vacuum leaks first though, and do a full tune up..

CHeck your cat..  It maybe clogged.  you can unbolt the flange. and see if it helps.

Another thing you may want to chekc is the timing and compression of each cylinder.
Let us know what you find!

I had this similar problem with mine a while back and it ended up being a couple of clogged injectors.  I checked by having the motor running and disconnected one spark plug wire at a time.  If the motor bogged down then the cylinder was firing.  If it didn't do anything then that is where the problem is.  Just be careful when doing this because you can shock the crap out of yourself.  Good luck.

If the engine fires up normal (starts easy) and has a perfectly smooth idle at 800-850 RPM, then I would say this is not a timing issue, not a timing belt issue, not a plugged injector issue, nor a burnt exhaust valves or any of the like.

I would immediately start checking every ground wire starting with the ground for the computer. Any solid brown or white-with-black-stripe wire you find ensure it has a good ground.

X2 Very true.... something is getting a bad ground or grounding out.. (that kicks on at a higher rpm?)
