2rz in a 4x4? in cali
« on: Mar 12, 2009, 10:28:37 PM »
Is it true that you cant run a 2rz in a 4wd because they came in 2wd trucks, and you cant swap a motor from a 2wd into a 4wd? it don't make any sense why it would matter.  just looking into the swap and I see that the 2rz is cheaper and should be easier to come by. any info would be great. this is just what I have heard on the subject.

Thanks in advance

Oh yeah this is a California truck that gets smogged  that's why it matters.

Where do people get this info?  Yes, as long as the engine retains all the original emissions equipment and is from a vehicle of the same year or newer than the one it's being transplanted into, it's totally legal.
