Steering arm bolts
« on: Mar 08, 2009, 01:23:10 PM »
I just got some steering arms But dont have the bolts to bolt them to my '84 Toy axle.
& I was wondering are they plain simple bolts I can buy at the hardware store? or do they require some thing special?

are they hi-steer arms?

if so i would get the dana 44 stud kit from mikeparts.com
cheapest around,that i know of...
and go a head and do the 5th stud too....

that is my 2 cents worth..

DO NOT use bolts on your steering arms. You need studs and cone washers to achieve proper clamping force on the arms. I'd personally go with FROR ARP studs for that application.

OK I just realized That I did have the studs. Doh!

But I'm missing the washers & nuts.
Where do I get Cone washers? (lowes? Osh?)
& should I run Ny-locks?

Might you have the shims that go under the steering arms as well?

I saw exploded view that show 3 shims per side & I only have one per side.
