where to weld key stock on top shift t-case
« on: Feb 17, 2009, 02:31:52 AM »
I got my crawl box broken down to the point where you weld the key stock to the shifter ends. The thing is the pdf directions are for a forward shift case and i'm using a top shift one, which has the "slots" inside the reduction housing under the shifter....SOoo i'm unsure where to weld the key stock.  :dunno:Also on re-assembly of the crawl box would the drivers shift fork (looking from the rear output) be installed back on the modified main shaft? Like with the 3/16 roll pin/fork combo for the 2wd 4 wd selection?

Your front box is the low range portion of the tcase, you only need the hi/low shift rail & fork. Look at your shifter bottom, you basically need to weld the key stock so that the shifter will stay in place. I have had to slightly grind the end of the shifter tip that fits into that hole to get it to move freely
