Extending the steering shaft
« on: Jul 04, 2008, 11:58:32 PM »
I was wondering what the easiest way to lengthen the steering shaft on my '92 pickup. It has some wierd metal rib part that looks like a shock boot in the middle and has no other spline part so i was wondering how to extend it with out cutting it if its possible? thanks

Get a shaft from an older truck (that doesn't have the slip yoke), drill out the plastic shear pins, mark your length, then plug weld the holes where the plastic was... all toyota, no real fab necessary
