my 83' yota motor swap
« on: Mar 21, 2009, 05:21:56 PM »
Got my 83 toyota to the shop the other night to start the motor swap, i'm yanking the tired old 22r and replacing it with a 20r shortblock i've put together with a weber 32/36 carb.

After opening the hood of the truck... i could not believe all the wires and unused "green plugs" everywhere when i was getting ready to start disconnecting stuff... Vacuum lines going to very odd, i'm guessing, emissions vacuum boxes and such... i just want to eliminate EVERYTHING i don't need

so my question is, What wires and vacuum lines do i absolutey have to keep, what can i tear out? as far as i know on the 20r, the only vacuum needed is the pcv and vacuum advance from the distributer to the weber.. is that right? of course i need my alternator and starter wires, but what else do i need to make it a drop in and start process? thanks alot guys

My 79 4x4 is totally original with only 37,000 miles, if you need me to check out what vacc lines you need, let me know.
