All toyota axel housings.....
« on: Mar 18, 2008, 01:55:36 PM »
Well i have always wondered this, so lets hear everyones opinions on if these are necessary or not. Also state if they are in or not in your axles. Look at picture. Personally they are not in my rear axle, don't know why really i just left them out... :_oops:

Thanks all

Threw mine away.
Unless you are doing 90mph on a long turn keeping the oil in the tube until your gears burn out, you won't need it.

EDIT: Nice welding table! :yesnod:

my front and rear have them, and are still there.

it is a baffle, like mini said, designed to keep oil in the third....but its not likely it will go anywhere for long

probably ok if its gone...although it does kinda help slide the axleshaft in the third

i figured thats what they were for just wondered if they were really needed.

3/4" plate steel 8'x4' welding table, takes a fork lift to move her

I put a 30,000 btu heater under it and the whole table heats up, its one giant radiant heater :afro:
