Am I missing something
« on: Feb 08, 2008, 06:32:00 AM »
Am I the only one who thinks there is something seriously wrong with these pictures?
I see it happening more and more and I don't understand, maybe it's a new trend...

uh.  The only thing that grabs my eye is that you would have to be about 4'9" to keep from hitting your head on the cage.  I'm amost 6'3" I would look like a shriner driving one of those things.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

I thought it had something to do with being in/near a water crossing.
I'm not sure what he's getting at.

I thought he meant the rear axle pointing in an odd direction until the last pic...so it's either Swampers or low cages? :dunno:

No front axle flex!!!
I'm seeing it more and more, that's great that the rear is flexy, but why not tune it so front flexes the same?
I don't get it.

that happens a lot when you have a leaf sprung front and a linked rear.

But why not adjust your suspension to cycle equally? Nothing just happens, something is too stiff, or something is too soft.

Good questions here? I can show ya about 20 more of my own personal pics, that are the same. I was stuck behind a rig at new years that scared me becouse of the flex being so unproportional font to rear. It would lean kinda scarry like, like it would just fall over.

I belive enormous amounts of flex is cool, but if its not usable, why bother?  :dunno:

Exactly, it would be the same as having an IFS front and linked rear... :headscratch:

Mabye its just a side effect of trying to gradually build a rig with links, while starting with leafs. Everyone has to start somewhere, but Why build a link suspension that dosent perform at its best just to suite a leaf suspension your going to remove later anyway? I guess its kinda a stepping stone for some.

I watched the build of the green samurai and it was a ground up build with leafs planned! I'm lost on understanding it.
