I like the ones i run from allpro

Good suggestion, they are semi local to me.  At least close enough to make driving cheaper than shipping.  They look good and the price aint bad.  Beefy too

Thanks

Here's a couple views of mine from All Pro.

I have a 3" B/L so I put mine to the top of the frame. All Pro says to put one gusset at each support bar. I got extra gussets and put two of them at an angle on the bottom of each support bar. The only thing I forgot to do was put a plate at the end of each support bar, but it holding up pretty good so far out of 4+ years of abuse.

I'm running no kickout Marlin sliders on my 84 4Runner.  I like them alot.  I tucked them and angled them very close to the body.  I'm not worried about body damage

When I first fabricated the sliders, my 4Runner was completely stock, so they stopped short of hitting the SR5 flares. Since then I went to 35" tires, for them to clear the bottom portion of the flares needed to be cut off. Now there was a gap between the sliders and tire, where a rock could contact the body. Adding kick-outs have helped quite a bit and never had any problems with them hanging up either. They actually make it easier to pivot turn around boulders....

cut the back portion off and extended to the end of the body seam

bent a piece of tubing 135 degrees and welded it in place

a view of the other side

The back doors just clear the kickouts a little over an inch and stick out almost flush with the width of the rear wheels.

My runner is the same color.  Nice rig.  I checked out your link.  You've put a lot into that thing.  I just bought mine.  I'm not going as far as you, yet.  Not enough money.  I like what you've done.

I have the All-Pro kick out rocker guards. As nice as they are to help portect you rear, they also will hang up up on rocks. If you plan on doing Sledgehammer then dont get them. Go with the straight ones. I have always gotten hung up at the waterfall with mine. When I redo mine I will either do straight ones or a will do a gradual slope to resembly the ones that Inchworm makes. But dont do a kick out unless you are more worried about keeping the body in perfect condition than you are about wheeling you truck.

Dont get me wrong, I try like hell to avoid damage, but Im not afraid of a little scratch either. I've personely been put into situations that caused body damage because the kickout stopped me from going taking the line I wanted.

Interesting.  Thanks for that, I'll keep that in mind.  Maybe I'll look for something will a smaller or less drastic kick out.

Funny, I've been wanting to add mine ever since going up Sledgehammer.... if I had them then, I would have made it through totally unscathed. The only damage I got was a small dent just below the drivers rear taillight lense going past the Plaque. Mine only stick out flush with the rear tire width and they've helped more than hindered me so far.

Maybe that's the key.  Having them flush with the rear tire.  But you are running a bit more tire than I plan to.  I'm looking at running 285's and no bigger.  I'm also toying with the idea of running 255-85's

Well,   to dont think that has anything todo with it. After seeing how they get caught. I know that my tires stick out about three inches further than the kick out, so I highly dought that.
