moving the engine back?
« on: Jan 30, 2008, 12:32:41 PM »
getting ready to install my duals in my 85 im going to build a flat belly with a fror style cross member mount. since im already having to make a crossmember/cut out floor and some firewall to clear/make new floor seat mounts etc how hard would it be to move the engine back 4-5inches and down an inch like they do for the ftoys? the engine mounts arent a problem just trying to fig out what else would be involved.
not sure if it will be worth the work but at least its a fun idea and will make for some good flaming and conversation.

my 22r comes pretty close to the firewall, stock, i dont think you could move it that far back without extensive firewall modifications or dropping the engine lower

if you are ok with major firewall mods, then more power to you!

the truck is a trail truck I wouldnt mind cutting a huge chunk out of the firewall and sheeting around it. If I were to move it id deff move the motor down 1 inch
