92 toy drive shaft or rearend?
« on: Jan 20, 2008, 06:55:00 AM »
Guys about 3000 miles ago I had a guy put a set of 4 88 gears front and back and I put a 4 inch pro comp lift on. I noticed after 1500 miles every now and then it would feel like I was driving over a rumble strip on the side of a highway but then kick out of it right away. It has slowly gotten worse and now today it does it alot! When I hit a bump it stops doing it for a minute but then starts up rightr away again. Is it my rearend the gears not put in correctly or is it my u joint or driveshaf6t? please help! I can not tell if it does it in 4 wheel drive but the 4 wheel drive works well. so I am thimking it is in the rearend.

guys I left the stock driveshaft and carrier bearing in. Do you think that carrier bearing finally went bad? Is there a better carrier bearing I can get or should I get a 1 piece driveshaft? I had a guy that works for toyota put them gears in so I am hoping it is just the carrier. please help

Make sure that all the flanges are tight. T-case, the one the CV bolts to, and the diff. You could have a U-joint going. It could be the center bearing on the drive shaft. It could be the diff is not set-up right. D-shaft angle could be wrong.

Hendrix makes a nice replacement for those factory carrier bearings. I belive they use factory type bearings. http://hendrixmotorsports.com/_wsn/page7.html
