FROR cross member? MC07R10
« on: Dec 10, 2007, 07:04:19 PM »
Is anybody using this cross member?  Lets here your likes and dislikes.  How did you run your exhaust?  The one I'm looking at, is the fabricate your own with the laser cut center piece.

FROR said that the bushing setup that I used was too stiff, or that my motor mounts were too soft.
I replaced the motormounts with some solid mounts from LCE and reinforced the crossmember more.

I was planning the same setup then just decided to sack up and buy the whole thing. all you gotta do is weld the mounts onthe frame which is stupid easy. Well after you cut the  IFS torsion bar brackets off. I didnt touch the exhuast

Yeah, I would have done that, but they did not offer the 10* clocked crossmember when I bought the center section.

I guess it looks like the exhaust would be in the way due to the 2" drive train lift I have.  I did some searching and I think 4runner rick has the hot ticket on cross members.  I think I will build one something like the one he built for quasimoto.  I like the flat belly. Thanks for the info, I will redo my motor mount while I'm at it.

Here is a pic of my crosmember built off of the fror center section. If I had been able to get the 10* adapter when I bought my doubler I would have a flat belly under my rig.

That looks pretty nice.  Here pics of the one I'm copying.  It will be a little different.  I'm solid mounting cross member and flex mounting only the case.

That looks sweet! Are you planning on retaining the horsecollar crossmember? I'm planning on doing the same thing that this setup has. I would think that flexmounting only under the t-case is sufficient. Thanks!
