axle question
« on: Nov 19, 2007, 08:34:14 PM »
I have a bent axle and am in need of a replacement I have an 81 front housing that is strait that is sitting around.
my question is there a difference between the two besides the full length lower gusset
what about tube thickness?
If the tube thickness is the same all that would be required to match the 85 is extending the lower gusset or is there more to it.

the lower gusset isnt necessarily needed...most axles bend at the knuckle...

some people actually prefer no bottom gusset for the added ground clearance under the axle tube
