A few questions about my old 4 link.
« on: May 01, 2008, 06:35:43 PM »
Right now I have a 89 Toy with a 1/4 elliptical 4-link rear.  I'm gonna be swapping a 14 bolt into the rear and was wondering if anyone had some thoughts on my rod ends.  I'm using 3/4 x 3/4 FK rod ends in 3/8 wall x 1.75 OD DOM tubing for the links.  It has had great strength in holding my toy axle but how about the new weight of a 14 bolt?  Basically...I'll take the 14 bolt and weld on a truss and link points and bolt it in the old spot of the toy axle.  I'm also going to run limiting straps and bump stops on this to limit body roll.  I've pondered about switching back to rear leaves but I plan on ditching the whole bed and back halfing the thing and would like to have it quite short.  Thanks guys.

that will work fine on a 14bolt, moving those rear shocks will help huge amounts in reducing body roll

I hope it reduces body roll, it's pretty out of control right now.  I also gotta rebuild one of my Bilstein shocks, a front bump stop folded over and the bottom of the shock is a lil bashed in.
