DUAL TRANSMISSION
« on: Mar 28, 2005, 09:08:38 AM »
Gents a couple of questions:  Has anyone experimented with mating 2 transmissions together.  From what i imagine if you were to do this you could have the low range of a 4.7:1 using 1st gear/1stgear & low range or how about reverse/reverse & low range but you could also have a myriad of other gear combinations which might make it possible to run larger tires without changing out the ring and pinion since you could run 4th gear/third gear 2  transfer case in 2 wheel drive.      :eyebrow:

It's really not that hard to change your ring and pinion.

Do a search, there's a thread here somewhere, and one on the pirate board too.

5th & 5th 2.92 to 1

5th & 4th 4.3 to 1

Some tech
I posted this on pirate about 6 months ago. I gave up on the idea after both w56s I have sitting in my backyard need syncros or gears. but i do have two tcases now. so I'm going to do the dual cases when I get the money for the mc07-r10
