Do you have a heater in the center consol for the rear? If so they are probally for that heat exchanger.

look on the drivers side in the engine compartment, like under where the throttle cable exits the firewall.  You will see both lines and hoses connecting them to your engine.  Plug them off and reroute your heater hoses.

this is a view of the engine bay where they lead to, the water hoses is what they are attached too....

id like to just get rid of the lines running to the back of the 4runner but keep my front lines....

another question why is the antifreeze in these lines...

have fun with that

i did that same thing, and it was a pain in the biggest  :moon: in the world

i took out the center arm rest and that wasnt to fun, the heater in the armrest has two hoses going to it from the bottom that you have to remove to get the b*std out. and they are in a shitty spot and dont lay under them when you disconnect them, fluids will pour all over you and piss you off more. what i did after i got the lines off was just connect them together....ill take a pic tomorrow cause now i dont rember exactly what i did with them but they are still ther just chillin... anyways until tomorrow......

jakesteads, up there in the engine bay is where you can bypass the rear heater so you dont have to worry about the leak anymore. with that pic you took you can see both the line that runs to the rear heater, and the line that runs from the rear heater. disconnect the lines there in the engine bay and run a short hose to connect them.

sounds like that will be 100 times easier
