Bad relay, bad switch, bad ground, broken wire, fuse. Does it make any noise at all or cause a power drain when you push it?

I think I had the same problem with my 4Runner and to close it I just reversed the wires. Then bought a new switch, and it was fine. I was a long time ago but I don't remember it being hard to do.
