fj-62
« on: Mar 20, 2007, 12:42:54 PM »
Hey there,

Found a fj-62 one my way to school today that was for sale, I'm pretty sure it is a 62 since it have a auto tranny. The body is in good condition but it looks like it has some oil leaks. Its a 1988 with 130,000 miles, they are asking 4850. I checked on kbb.com and it looks like one in good condition would go around 2700 around this area. What do you guys think about the price and what would you offer.
Thanks,
Max

What area are you at?  I bought a FJ60 here with a really straight body and no rust for 500.00  Does it have lift/tires????  There are a lot of variables that could change the price considerablly.

Its in michigan. It looks stock and i think the guy has it way over priced. The weather here is rainy today but hopefully tomorrow i'm going to get ahold of the guy and see if can take a look at it, but i'm not about to pay what he is asking.

Im with LC, its gotta have some cancer with those salted roads out there. Check the fender wells out real good. look for bondo patches covering rotted out sections. Look under floor mats if you can. If its cherry and you like the rig, offer him your lowest price, you never know, he'll most likely counter offer. If its got problems, walk away, You probably want a manual trans rig anyway right?
