ASCO/Aisin hub problem?
« on: Apr 06, 2007, 02:39:09 PM »
I have a pair of ASCO hubs and am wondering what the purpose of the little nubs inside the dial/cover are for? Is it to keep the spring centered?
As you can see from my picture the ones in red are still there, but it looks like the ones with the blue arrow have broken sheared off. How much of a problem is this going to be ? Should I be looking for another set of hubs?

my opinion is they are just there to position the dial. the dial does not have any strain except to pull in and out the hub gear. the axle, and the hub body along with the gear are the only things that are supposed to be taking the abuse. if the hub dial was important for this it would not be held on by little tiny 6mm bolts.

WARNS= Bad idea

WARNS don't use cones and tend to come loose.... Causing you to break studs.
