I was talking to my buddy Darin about getting a License for Ham radio and he call me back and said his club would like to help us and any of our friends. I would love to step up to the ranks of the Ham radio dudes like Scott & be able to call my wife from Swamp ans say I Love YOU Good Night!

Starting March 20th at 7pm at the Clovis Senior Center on 4th street in Clovis.
We will need to provide our own study guide. They run about 20 dollars.

   Well the next time a Hurricane hits ya place just remember those Hammie geeks are there out of the kindness of their hearts and don't get payed to be there. In fact they are leaving paying jobs to come down there and help you, putting hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of gear to use that was bought and payed for out of their own pockets...


    Just giving ya a hard time... .  I have to remember that you do after all only drive a JEEP, so one can't expect much from you.

I called Ray with some question and this is the info he gave me, in case any of you had the same questions:

-Meetings run from 7:00 to about 9:00
-Class usually takes 6 weeks (6 meetings)
-You do not need to bring the recommended study guide to class, but should bring a note pad and pen
-They are holding both General and Tech licensing classes, we should start out with the Tech license
-At the end of the class we can take the licensing exam here in town. If there aren't any exam dates already scheduled, the Clovis group can give the exam to us.
-They have some cool demos in class so this should be fun
