22re block
« on: Dec 29, 2006, 04:34:49 PM »
Need a new block for my 4runner. Would like one that was running no noises, no smoke and semi low miles (around 130K ish). Needs to be in or very close to Chico CA. Also needs to be CHEAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

nothing... I started it today and it was burning more oil then i have ever seen it blow out before. I turned it off and started it a few hrs later and its still doing it.

THe exhaust sounds great though. haha no more pile of crap on wheels. now its just the valves ticking.

Chris, are you sure you don't just have leaky valve seals?  That's super common, and a lotta the time people think they need a rebuild because they don't know they're leaking.  I think glen knows how to change them without pulling the head if you're interested.  I'll trade you a set of seals for your L50 :cheese:

you know im not sure at all... infact thats probably all it is. I think what I am going to do is just swap heads because I have a better head sitting in my garage. I am going to try that to see if it works.

Thanks for the idea...

How much are the seals worth? Im now debating if I want to pull the head again, thats not very much fun to do anymore even though I can get it done pretty quick now. Ill probably end up having to anyway. Now that I think about it though I dont think it smoked very much at all before I put on a new head (well before the head gasket blew on the other one).

You already blew a headgasket on the 86?  Or am I getting confused?  Anyway, seals are only about $10-15 or so, but if you're not in a hurry I'd either get em from enginebuilder or toyota.

You used a toyota factory headgasket last time, right?
