CARB ISSUES?!?!
« on: Nov 24, 2006, 10:37:59 AM »
ok well i came home for my thanksgiving break and ive been hoping to do some wheeling but all ive been doing is trying to get my truck running right.  i only have two days left now and im desperate so i figured id post my problem up.  Ok well

truck turns on and idles perfectly.  (it is a 22R)  as you accelerate it begins to bog down pretty badly and driving it is terrible.  so we thought hmm maybe accelerator pump, but mine is plugged off, and i let the truck warm up completely so i dont think that is the issue.  i have been driving without it for a long time now and its been fine.  so then i looked at whether the choke was stuck on, and when the truck warms up the choke does not open so i thought it was that but if you hold the choke up and rev it, it sounds like its trying to suck air in but nothing just bogs down and cuts out.  well thats my rant.

any help is extremely appreciated.

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter ?, also check for vacuum leaks.

If its not the fuel filter or a vacuum leak, then it might be the main accelerator pump diaphram thats gone bad, im guessing its the auxilary accelerator pump that you have plugged.
