80-85 Frame!? PARTS FOUND, PLEASE DELETE!!!
« on: Oct 31, 2006, 08:59:05 AM »
PARTS FOUND!!!!!! PLEASE DELETE!!!!!    I'm looking for a short box regular cab frame from a 80-85 if anyone would have one. I live in Central Wisconsin so the rust monster seems to devour all our yota frames here. Thanks!

I have an 80 frame from a 2 wheel drive with all the brackets cut off and an 86 4 runner frame in Tracy CA and I think I know of an 85 and an 82 frame available close by.

No, I do most of my stuff around home. My dad had a mid-life crissis thing and instead of buying a sports car like most he bought a bull dozer. It was actually really nice cause we have 640 acres so he built me a big play ground and then theres another little place about 15 miles from where I live.

I build New frames as well as rebuild old ones...it won't have the exact same shape (curves), but mine are stronger than stock, won't rust inside and everything will bolt right up. All i need to know is exact year and body style. Call my cellphone if interested, i've done a few and have references. I'm near Peoria, Illinois but we'll work something out.

sigh.. not looking for you to donate one to me, dont need one.  Asking if you accept donated frames.  I read this "I build New frames as well as rebuild old ones" and wondered if you wamted a free frame to refurbish and make a profit on.  But maybe your not into that.

Didn't quite understand you the first time, sorry. No thanks, anyway, i don't rebuild frames to sell, i replace part or all of a customer's frame when they bring me thier truck with bad cancer or folded in half. I will build and ship  completely new frames, letting the customer swap everything out, but i don't intend to have frames in stock ready to ship. Bumpers, racks, etc. are all made-to-order on a case-by-case basis.

Here are some of my prices...if you come to my shop we can always work a deal.

$500.00-$700.00 to replace from the middle of the cab back (the part that usually rusts the worst)

$900.00-$1100.00 for a full new frame, depends on year, pre-85 is cheaper cause i don't hafta mess with IFS (so if you've done a SAS, about $900.00ish)

No stupid drain holes in mine (read as nifty holes to allow water & mud to get in and rot out your frame)
Rustproofed inside & out
Reinforced front
All frame rails welded shut and nitrogen purged...no oxygen inside=no iron oxide (rust) inside, right?

Considering that a new ARB, Road Armor, etc. bumper can run you between $600-$1100, i'd say my prices are fair...my local customers are happy...because of my work, thier trucks are still on the road.

Sorry, when i did the two full frames i didnt have a cam or cam phone, and although the customers promised to get me some, you know how that goes...

I've got more pics of my half frames...question is, are you interested in one, or just wanting really good engineering pics?...lol

I'm not looking for engineering pics. I am an engineer and could draw it up on a CAD program if thats what I wanted. I'm looking for a frame and all but at this point and time I cant see paying that for a newly built frame when I can do a SAS on a 86-95 for theme price and I can find plenty that are in decent shape. My ntentions here were to possibly pick up a decent frame off a 80-85 for a few hundred bucks. So thank you for your time!
