Sticking Gas Gauge

I have a 87 toyota Single cab, 11 gallon tank i believe, 22r with 155xxx miles, The gas gauge isnt registering, Its always sits at 1/4 tank, will not move..

Truck runs and drive like a top... What could cause this? iS there some kind of relay that might of took a :pokinit:? Fuse?

any help would be great, Im tired of walking to the gas station... :hammerhead:

Either the sending unit went out or there's a bad connection.  Check the wires going to it, and if possible pull it and see if it moves up and down.

if it was wiring I dont think it would be stuck at 1/4, it'd be below E. betting the float in the tank is stuck.

If you are reading anything it most likely not in the wiring. The sending unit is just a veriable resistor, so it is possible that it isn't working correctly, but more likely that it would just stop working all together rather than stick on a single voltage. I would bet on KYOTA's suggestion that your float is stuck.
