new tool box

well after wandering the mcr5 camp looking for a bolt, i decided that i would come more equiped next time

so i built a box out of 3/4 mdf wood and it has a rolling drawer in it that can hold up to 1000 pounds, it weighs about 500 now

its covered in waterproof carpet, locks, and holds 8 quarts of varios grade oils, 3 gallons of water and antifreeze, 2 gallons of gear oil, a floor jack, tools, spare bolts gallore, 40 ft of various vacuum lines, maps, gloves, wd40, all kinds of stop leaks, all sizes hose clamps, and spare motor parts for the 22re...and other stuff im sure.

should be perty well covered next time something breaks :beerchug:

That things sick...  :thumbs: I'd love that much lockable storage in my 1st gen. You'll be everyone's best friend with that much spare stuff.  :beer:

nice, i had a plastic storage box, but all my wheeling tore it up, how do u think the wood will hold up?

well, i designed it so that it is really tight in there, ther is NO room to slide foreward or back, and since it lockes it wont open and close, so it should hold up, but i guess well see, 3/4 is pretty strong stuff

What did you use for the drawer sliders...this is the same type of thing I am gonna build in mine.

IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

i used refrigerator wheels, 6 of em, they can hold 250 pounds each

Nice, I like your design. I may have to steal that design on a  later project, Mabye even make it 2 independent drawers.
