Short Throw Shifter
« on: Jan 29, 2004, 06:59:42 PM »
I have a marlin crawler short throw shifter on my transmission, r150f, and the shifter is now longer than stock. Does anyone know if I need to cut down the shifter and re-weld it to the shifter base to bring it back to the stock length?

1989 x-cab V6, SAS, Marlin dual ultimate crawler, dual arbs, high pinion, 35 mtr's, hot brunette in passenger seat.

The trans shifter is now only about 1" taller than stock. I would not change it unless it causes a problem. Any time a solid shaft is cut, shortened, and welded back togeather, there is a chance of the weld failing. This is main reason we do not alter the height of the handle.
