Yep, another newbie from Texas
« on: Feb 02, 2004, 05:07:31 PM »
Hello, just stumbled upon this board and like what I saw.  I frequent several other toyota truck boards and when I have time I try to help others out.  I have been an aircraft/auto mechanic my whole adult life and have a lot of experiance to offer.  Looking forward to be of assistance and also to pick your brains when mine has gone blank.

Hi guys. Well I live in Waskom, Texas located in the back woods of North East Texas.  As far as mods to my truck; I have installed the Revtek 3 inch suspension lift and 33 inch mudders.  The lift kit gave me right at 4 inches of lift because of the fact the truck is a 4 cylinder short cab Tacoma.  The 2.7 four cylinder is a lot lighter than the six cylinder and the short cab frame and cab is also lighter than the extended or double cab trucks; therefore almost 4 inches of lift instead of the advertised 3 inches.  The kit comes with one inch drop spacers for the front diff which keep the cv's happy and avoid problems with the ADD system.  I run 285-75-16 mud tires on stock 16 inch rims with no rubbing issues at all; didn't even have to remove the mud flaps.  I was just about to jump on an EZ locker for the rear diff but then stumbled across the Aussie locker.  I did some research on it and the reviews on it are impressive.  Supposed to be stronger, quieter, less jerky action on pavement, and a little cheaper on the check book.  Only problem is the unit for the latest generation Tacoma is still in test trucks with a release date to us at some time this summer.  So that will probably be my next mod on my truck, unless an ARB bullbar bumper and winch show up at my door...............LOL not likely.

Right now he has a sale going called the tax man sale, just call him before you buy anything and see if his prices are close to what you have found. His spacer is very good quality. good luck
