1989 1st gen 4runner un-molested super clean
« on: Jul 24, 2007, 11:11:37 AM »

(this picture is before the OME springs)

DFW Texas
Here?s the deal for the time being I need something more economical as it looks like I  will be getting a 7 hour one way commute in the near future. (looks like I?m going off shore).  So my rig is for sale or trade for the right car or truck.  I don?t have to sell my 4runner so don?t expect me to move much on price.  I?m looking for 5000.00 or close to it. ( in this condition I?ve seen them go for 6k plus)  Here?s what you get
1989 Toyota 4runner production date 8/88  SR5 V6 5spd
JT3VN66W2K0029383   yes car fax will flag it (see salvage title)
133k miles
Black with grey interior, power windows, locks intermittent wipers (All work)
Dealer installed rubberized undercoating (originally California rig) NO RUST ANYWHERE
Sunroof with factory sunshield
No tears in the upholstery, not faded either no stains
Rubber all weather floormats
TRD shift knob
downey idler brace
Sonoran Steel UBer IFS brace
5spd r150 with heavy duty clutch (25k miles), replaced shifter seat bushing
3.0l V6 pre-head gasket failure recall (best running 3.0 around)
-new OE timing belt, water pump and engine seals (rear main, front, valve cover, cam) at the 90k mark
-new factory iridium spark plugs (5k miles)
- sea-foam (2k miles ago)
- oil change every 3500 miles dino oil
optima red top
Averages 15 to 17 mpg on regular
Dealership converted A/C system to R134 last month (blows ice cubes)
Swapped in a set of factory 4.56 differentials
Factory Cruise control (works great)
SDORI 1.5 inch bj spacers
OME steering stabilizer
OME rear leaf packs March this year (cs900r 2.5" or so lift)
Correct length Rancho RS5000 shocks
NWOR front swaybar disco & poly bushings
Four 15x8? American racing Outlaw wheels (no rock rash) (spare mounted on black ?D? hole wheel)
Five 33x12.5x15 firestone Destination MT?s on the ground have 35% left spare never on ground
Bud built cross member that also provides 3/4" drivetrain lift
New NAPA hd tie rod ends & alignment (5k miles)
1" roger brown HD ultimate body lift with radiator & bumper brackets
CBI off road custom  rear tube bumper
locking glovebox
Perfet interior.  One small crack in dash pad
New center console with new armrest (you won?t find one anywhere else)
Factory clinometer installed, lights work with headlights
JVC head unit with remote
Passes Texas emissions with ease
Daily driver, drives and brakes straight and true
New brake lines all around (stainless in the rear), pads, rotor, wheel cylinders  (5k)
Current registration and inspection
truck is still a teanager for another year!

Extras included:
Bikini kit
Spare front axle
Extra ingnitor/coil
More listed later

Bad things

It does have a salvage title. Why? This truck was stolen for its custom stereo and later recovered.  Not a collision or flood salvage, theft recovery
Paint has been keyed (see theft recovery)  I forget its even there
Decals are old and faded
Rear deck lamp does not work, never bothered to fix it
Fuel gauge needs a new sending unit (about $90.00)  I just fill up every 200 miles
(it reads when full then drops to empty after about 75 miles
Left front fender has been replaced (minor parking lot adjustment)
Fiberglass top has a busted rain channel where the PO had a roof rack installed

I would be comfortable driving this truck anywhere I just want something that gets 25 to 35 mpg for my long commute.  I will consider trades and trades plus cash for the right truck or car

pitures are coming  I?m sure there is more.  I have put a lot of time and $ into this truck.
Pm me or email mvankeuren at hotmail.com  with questions or offers

Thanks
Mike

Did you buy this rig from Zach?  I test drove it when he had it, almost bought it...just didn't have the money.  You've done quite a bit to it, it looks great.

Bump.

Out of curiosity, when you say "spare front axle"...is it a solid axle or IFS.
