Sounds pretty awsome except the frame cannot be self fabricated.  But there is reasoning behind that I bet.

It sounds super cool and keeps it down on a closed budget. If I had more time and money I would definitely build one...

I think this will be great for people who want to compete without having to compete with other peoples money!!! I have a friend who is doing this who previously was competing with his x-cab toy. I kind of like to compare it to nascar where it is about the driver and in this case the spotter also! Good luck to all that compete.

Did I catch that you can't go lower than 4.10 dif gears? It's all made up for in t-case gears but it doesn't seem like people run 4.10s in built rigs-good for strength though. It makes sense, it's just interesting...

I was talking with my buddy about the rules and stuff and we figured that for a comp atmosphere, you don't want extreme low gearing because it is a race against the clock. You can get plenty of gearing out of the cases and have a stronger drivetrain by running 4.10s. This will cut down on the time needed to drag the fool off the course running 5.71s and slowing the competition down. He has duals with a 4.7 in the rear but he said that in his full bodied comps, he only engaged the front case maybe a total of 2 times so he's thinking of running just dual stock cases. Much different mind set when you're running for time than when you're just f'ing around on the trail!  :driving:

No, it was considered. That is why this rule is in there:
No cutting or turning brakes
Without those, the disconnect is useless.
