How do you measure for bent housing?
« on: Oct 07, 2012, 10:17:31 PM »
Shopping for a new front housing...Question, when looking at a used housing, how do I make sure it is straight? Is there a method to measure and make sure?

Thanks!

Eye ball it, look for any wrinkles on the housing. If it has welding done to it then it's probably bent. Measure from the top of one rotor to the top of the other rotor then compare that to the distance between the bottoms of the rotors.

Ok, any recommendations for measuring when the housing is stripped bare as it is now? Any way to measure off of the knuckle balls?
