yep im a new guy
« on: Dec 30, 2003, 10:40:48 PM »
Im 16 years old and I just got my first truck for christmas.  Description:

1982 toyota P/U SR5 4x4
Good 22r engine with a little over 107k on it.
Skyjacker 4 inch lift and stock 3rd members.
I got this truck for doing a engine swap for my friends dad and the only problem with this truck is that it has not transmission.  The tires are 31's x 10.5 mounted on black rockcrawler streetlocks.
I cant find a transmission for it or a transfer case.  Its also missing the front drive shaft.  All i had to do was swap a blown engine from a 88 camry and put in a new one and they gave me this truck for free.   Hope u guys can help me out in the future.

Dont let the age fool you.  I work on a ranch as a atv mechanic.  Ive also done a lot of projects.  Started working on cars when i was 13.  Helped my dad replace engines on a 88 civic and a 90 nissan 240.  Then I bought a 92 yota paseo from a auction for 400 bucks with no engine and I put about 500 bucks into it.  And 3000 is what i sold it for.  I got 2000 bucks to burn so im thinking about putting ez-lockers front and back with 4.88 gears.  33 inch tires and a dual marlin x-case setup.  hows that sound?

does tha SR5 have a sun roof? My friend has a 81 SR5 and it has a factory sunroof. i was amzed to see it!

you need to get a L52 5sped transmission and a 79-83 transfercase, they are alll the same!
