header ?

would a header for the 22r fit on a 22re and if so what is the best smog leagal one to get. Thanks

if your gunna buy one, why not buy one for a 22re?

anyway to answer your question, they are the same except for one difference.  The early 22re's had the o2 sensor in the manifold, not way down under the drivers seat.  IF this is your case make sure that you have the o2 sensor bung in the headers closer to the engine.

i  have a 82' with the 22r so I wanted to buy a header for it, but plan on swapping it with a 22re in the near future. So I guess ill buy one for a 22re.  Thanks. :biggthumpup:

Hey :wave:

This is what I Have and I love it.  They make one Header (that fits really well IMHO) and you just adapt it to your vehicle.  I have an 84 so I had to buy the additional smog kit that you wont need for a later style, it's only $50.  Plus tube #1041003 bolts on right after the header and that is where the O2 sensor goes.  I just crimped in two wires and relocated the sensor from my manifold to after the header, works great..  :yesnod:
