Yes... You should be able to have the front case in low with the rear case in 2h or 4h. Sounds like you have the sameproblem I do with mine. I didnt know what year my rear case came out of and I guess itwas from an 87-88 W-56 and they have a 1/2" piece that needs to be cut off the shift rod and if you dont, with the rear in 2h or 4h and the front in low, it pops out and you have to mess with it and take the shifter off and re-align the shift rods. I need to take mine out and cut that little piece off and it sounds like you need to do that too.
