well first things first make sure U get every thing dry.  pull all the ends of the plugs  make shore their dry (at this point die-eletric grease would not be a bad idea) Also make shore your air filter is dry !!

everything is dry... took all plugs and dried them i pulled the afm apart and cleaned it then sealed it back up... i have no codes, tried a new coil that did nothing did a comp test 170 across.... not really sure what could be next? could the cap be bad? i unplugged the cold start injector and it did nothing, it runs without the afm hooked up, still runs bad and misses terrible, but when i plug the afm in the runs even worse? and it still smells like raw fuel when it is running? whats next pull the injectors? kinda stumped on this one i have spent 2days with no luck? ???

Have you checked the cap again. It's possible that you didn't get all the moisture out.And after you parked it that night when the temp came down it created more moisture in the cap.Take the cap off and check, while you got it off you might take a air hose and blow the dist. out.

It shouldn't be running with it unplugged unless there's a short in the plug or something.

ok so it is puffing white smoke...and there is no water in it.. it just smells like unburnt fuel... my next thought would be plugs but they are brand new and i just checked them...could the distributer itself be bad?

I had a friends motor start this after a day of wheeling. The spring in the AFM had broke flooding the motor with fuel. I would try to find another AFM and put it into your truck.

the afm should be giving you a code. but you also said it runs wthout it. i would suggest replacing your afm with another just becuase it came in contact with water and they do not like that. you'd be amazed as to how much trouble that afm causes

will do, just for the hell of it i pulled the intake chamber off....and it is full of black sludge...a good 1/4 inch thick on all sides... even the butterfly valve was covered. pulled the injectors and they are black... i guess all the oil i am burning finaly caught up with me? i am having the injectors cleaned and going to try it again...this motor only needs to last 3 more weeks... i guess thats not going to happen

That seems to be a normal thing, you say to yourself "this only has to last a few more weeks" and then you beat on it until it dies. Hopefully you get it working again!
