« on: Aug 21, 2003, 06:36:10 AM »
i am attempting to build a new truck for my daughter
she wants to compete in the calrocs stock mod events
i have started with a longbed standard cab 85 pickup
bobbed the bed and the fenders 4 inch rancho front springs ranger rear springs dual  cases and 3515.5015 tsl sx  rock sliders and bumpers i am having a problem getting enough flex out of the front  ans she is also eating driveshafts every weekend

help any suggestions
and any advice from females competing like pointers for the girls
living in the desert makes toyotas
a musthave thing . so much desert to crawl in and so few gas stations.
barstow is great, calico and the hammers are both within a half an hour  drive.

ditch the front rancho's..They suck :twocents:..go with stcok rears up front and it will move your front end forward 2inches and will help with some of the drive line angle(thats a cheap way to go).You will also need to build or buy some banana shackles if you use the rears up front.Or invest is some aor springs that can do the same thing. There spendy though.allpro also has them but I don't think theres all that great on trucks.I think they do much better on 4 runners do to weight.Thats just an opinion, and those are like A$$ holes..everybodys got one. :twocents:...whats the drive shaft doing.Busting u-joints or coming apart at the shaft?I would think that by going 4in lift and the axle in stock position you would have a pretty sharp angle at extreme flex.So moving the front foward would help.also you can use f-250 shock mounts for longer shocks. :driving: :beerchug:
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

You should put her in the spec class, its not too late, you just need to buy a $800 tube body, that welds to the frame
Liquor up front
Poker in the rear
