Help with 22re swap into 83 wiring guru's
« on: Feb 12, 2006, 09:06:56 PM »
Trying to finish a 94 22re swap into my 83 truck, it's running great but I can't figure out the wiring for my tach. All the diagrams I can find for the 83 harness say that the tach lead is a black wire in the inst. panel, but all mine has is a black/yellow? And the wiring diagrams for the 94 say that it is a black also but there are 2 black wires 1 into the coil and 1 to the igniter and I can't figure out which one I need.

Also I am having some trouble with the coolant temp sender for the gauge. Right now I have the 83 coolant temp sender in the intake manifold with both the 83 and 94 coolant temp sender wires running from it, the 83 harness is feeding the gauge and the 94 harness is feeding the computer. I am wondering if there is a difference in the resistances of the the 83 and the 94 coolant temp sender or if the 94 coolant temp sender should be fine for both. the gauge works and is accurate but I have a surge just past idol that i think is related to the coolant signal being wrong for the 94 computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like more tree huggin hippie bull :pokinit:
