Cab/bed bolt on for 86 yota
« on: Feb 09, 2006, 04:56:18 PM »
I just rolled my 86 pickup and am looking for a regular cab and doors to bolt on my frame.  Will the cab and bed of earlier or later models (other than 84-88) bolt directly onto the frame of my 86, or will I have to do some mods?

Thanks,

Erick

the bed will for the most part, however the design of the bed changed in the 79-83 to 84-88 style and it makes the front mount on the gen 1 unusable without modification.... the cab wont be as easy, the cabs are shorter on the gen 1s so you will need to relocate body mounts......

Thanks for the inputs, please keep 'em coming.

I've got a lead on a 1986 reg cab that is caged, has sun roof, doors, clean title, with interior panels and all glass.  He says it has a few dings here and there and slight rockrash but in decent condition.

I'm going to go look at it either tomorrow or Saturday and he wants me to make an offer, so what do you think a good starting price would be?

Thanks,
Erick

Yes, any 84-88 cab should bolt up just the same, the main difference being where the shifter hole comes through the floor depending on which tranny it came with.
