 I just had a thought hit me, I have had a Sammi and have thoughts every now and then about getting another one. I also have an 11yr old son, everytime I suggest it he kicks me and chases me out of the house and won't let me back in until I come to my senses. :rofl2:

My thought is if an 11yr. old kid who has been wheelin' since he was 2mos. old and wants nothing to do with a certain vehicle and it is not based on any brand bias, is only from his experiences with that vehicle, has nothing to do with the cost of building it and from what he has witinessed other vehicles can do in comparision. I'm gonna listen to him, he is the one just standing there watching.

Tell him you're thinkin of gettin a 3.0, see what he says

WA, get what you're most comfortable building.  another thing to consider though, is I don't see a sammi hauling around a quad very well :dunno:  unless you've already got thaty covered

I have access to a pickup and most likely will have access to it for years to come and the lumberyard pays for the gas bill so I am covered. I think I am going the sami route. My dad says that he wants me to wait until mid-term grades come out for me to get another rig, so I have about another month and a half before I can buy something. Should be a fun build though! I will keep you posted!

I have a friend that's converting a sami to use a volkswagon diesel from a jetta.  He really likes the thing.  I say go for the sami.  You'll be back to the toyota crowd before long for running gear anyway.  When the thing was stock, he got 31mpg

The VW motor swap is tight. I have to wait until after mid-terms to get a new rig, so I may get a rig and then go Stage 2 on my car at the same time so I'll be broke for a while...maybe it's time for a new job?

Sammis are bad ass. i want one just to beat the :pokinit: out of. my dad, brother and grandpa all have sammis. i think they are very capable rigs. my brother wheels the piss out of his and it holds its own. he had a toy pickup and runner but i think he likes his sammi better. hes getting ready to throw in his 2.4 out of his old pickup and possibly do toy axles so it will be tight. get the sammy you wont regret it. theres quite a bit of stuff availabable for them, (cant remember the website right now), theres not as much stuff as toys but that gives you more of a chance to use your imagination and make it your own. good luck with it. im in sumner so after i get done w/ my sas we should go wheelin

Petroworks has the VW swap down to a tee. He even knows how to get it certified on the smog issues. He's done a few.

I think I was seeing signs yesterday. I was following an 03 WRX in traffic and coming on the opposing lanes was first a lifted Sammi with a "Calmani" sticker in the windhseild and no more than a minute later there was a stocker going the same way as the lifted one.
