5mgte w/ W46 4speed tranny
« on: Dec 29, 2005, 07:45:29 PM »
I have been unable to find information on the W46 tranny.  The 5mge came with a W58 so I would think a 1987 W46 would mate up fine.  How strong are these transmission ??  Could it hold 300 RWHP  All comments welcome.

A W46 is a early style 4 speed trans that would not stand up to 300 hp.
I belive it shares the same bellhousing to transmission bolt pattern as the early L43 so i dont believe that it would bolt up to the W56-58 bell.

I will double check in the am when i get to the shop
