I have a tranny and t case out of and 86 and the tranny in my 81 jus lost reverse so i was wondering what mods have to be made to make the 86 tranny fit. The t-case is a top shift by the way. An help would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to move the crossmember back, and move the hole for the shifter back some. You will need the d shafts from the 86 or you will have to have your rear shortened and the front one lengthend.the 86 tranny is about 4-5 inches longer.
