SPAM FROM THE BOARD!

I recieved a bunch of spam in german, all of the names of the senders were from the board. Did this happen to anybody else? It happened last night.

If you have been receiving strange German emails, know that they are a result of Sober.q virus activity happening outside of the Marlin domain.
When you receive these emails DO NOT OPEN THEM, delete them immediately and empty the deleted items bin.

I got some attachments from a few members of the baord, they were english though.  They were all zip files, and all were the same size, so I deleted them.   THey were from people on the board that wouldnt email me stuff usually.

If you are having any kinds of problems, there is an option in your Profile to Hide your Email ..

Go to: Profile > Account Related Settings > Hide email address from public? | Check that box, reenter your password at the bottom and click "Change Profile"

I got about 400 at my work, about 50 of them made it through the spam filter.

If you have Norton Internet securities you can block all languages except for English and you won't get anymore of the German emails.  Also never open any attachments unless you are sure they are legit even if they seem to be from some one you know. Usulay the subject will give it away that it is spam and may contain a virus.

All these emails are a result of the earler virus that was out about week ago that infected a few people that are on this fourm and those email address that were sent out are now being used to send more crap so be carefull what you open.
