i want to build a " all toyota" rig, using toy axles, springs(tundra rears), motor ect. ive already built alot of hybrid rigs with gm and dodge axles, this one i want to be pure. and it will be more of a challange for me, anyone can do full width and be strong, but it takes some engineering to get a toy axle strong enough to handle 40's. :beerchug:

So if I wanted to do an sas on my 87 4runner would it be better to purchase a dana rather than a toyota straight axel. I mainly drive my runner to work, but a few times a month i love to go wheelin. I have 35s... Thanx, DAvid

a dana 44 or 60 is alot stronger than a toy axle, but it all depends on what you want or how hard you are in your stuff :beerchug:

there have been a lot of arguments on here about the 44 and yota. a lot say there about the same its just easier and cheaper to find parts for the 44

agreed, however, my 44 was stronger than 99 percent of toy axles out there

ther are compatable, if you know what your doing, and initialy, they can be more expensive, but cheaper to upgrade

Obviously danas are wider, and stronger, it that why they are preferred over a toyota axel?

most people get front and rear, as far as year, hell, it varies so much, late seventies, 80s,early 90s
44=good, 60=best, 60s are near imposible to find for less than a grand, 44s are pretty common, i can however suggest you talk to my freind, he has a 44 front, 60 rear, arb airlockers, alloy shafts, new brakes, new bearings, geared @ 5.89 axles that where built to go under a toy pickup or 4runner. hes selling them right now for an EXTREMELY fair price- his number is 530-613-0564, his name is aaron
