22 re died while driving surging idle
« on: Jan 21, 2020, 03:19:59 PM »
Driving in pretty wet snow the truck misfired and instantly died, engine light came on. Wouldn’t start. Checked for spark coming from coil no spark. Unhooked the battery and the reconnected and fired right up. Ran good except for a couple of times on the way home it died instantly misfired a couple times and then after a few seconds would start running again. Ran really good after that. Got home and now the rpms are surging at idle. Engine rebuilt not too long again and everything’s pretty new. Any help would greatly be appreciated

Start with a visual inspection, unmetered air can cause surging, and pull the ecu codes.

Everything looks good. Test drove it again today ran great for 30 minutes down the highway. Took it off road and after a little bit it died again. Tried the battery thing again and it will turn over and run a couple seconds then dies again. This may be unrelated but my brakes don’t seem to have much pressure
