92 2x4 to 4x4
« on: Feb 16, 2004, 08:14:06 PM »
I've been think'n about doing this for a looong time,i've got 3 '85 junkers and 1 '92 2x4 that I got CHEEP! SO I ripped the box and bumpers off and did prelim measurements. the frame is exactly like my '85 4x4  :smack: so with a nasty winter happening (we have over 36 in of snow on level ground) and an empty credit card (not anymore)  :dunno: and not seeing any posts anywhere on this I thought I'd take on the challange    dug a G 52 out of the snow and a bunch of other pieces parts, and heeeeere we go  :crossed:  Bought an all pro kit which should be here by friday  I'ts gonna be fun          as soon as I have more progress I'll post some pics, if I can figger out how

Cool I may be doing the exact same thing this summer for a buddy.  Kinda hard to get the new baby+momma into a 85 standard cab.  Keep us all posted w/pics to check your progress.

A 2 wheel drive box is way lighter duty than a 4x box.  Sorry to be the one to tell ya.
